SAUNDERS PARK
Land Trust office – Simmons Gallery
380 Janis Court, Trinidad 95570 |
Home to the Trinidad Library, the Trinidad Museum & the Trinidad Coastal Land Trust office (also known as the 'Simmons Gallery'), this property now called Saunders Park was donated to the Land Trust in 2004 by Glenn and Janis Saunders, to create a town civic center. More than a decade later, the Park is finally complete. The Trinidad Museum Society completed the Museum in 2009, the new county library building completed in 2013, and the Land Trust moved into the Simmons Gallery in 2016. This property is also home to a picnic seating area and passive park, bochi ball court and an amazing native plant garden with a small trail around the frog pond. There is also electric vehicle charging stations in the parking lot. Click Here to Learn More About the Simmons Gallery and events.

The Gallery's namesake, Ned Lee Simmons, was a TCLT board member for nearly 20 years!
His friends made significant donations in his memory that funded the construction of this beautiful office that also functions as an art gallery, highlighting local artists that highlight our beautiful coast.

Saunders Park is a great place for families to stop while visiting Trinidad. Between the Library and Museum, you can also explore the native plant garden and try to I.D. the tracks in the concrete! Don't forget to stop by the Land Trust office for maps of nearby adventures you wouldn't want to miss.
Something New at Saunders Park
We are very pleased to announce the installation of two 'Science Detective' interactive displays at Saunders Park next to the Trinidad Library. TCLT worked with Humboldt State University students to design these signs geared for children ages 2-10. A detective worksheet is provided onsite and by downloading the files below.
