​Moonstone Beach may be Humboldt County’s favorite family beach. The Little River flows into the Pacific Ocean here. People love to walk their dogs, swim in the river and ocean, surf, frisbee, climb boulders, and beach walk. There is a small county park parking area here with a portapotty and more public parking along the beach on the Land Trust's public access easement (west side of gravel parking lot, for the public to legally park and access the beach) over this otherwise private property owned by the Merryman family. For special events, locals love to rent the Merryman's Beach House beach (707-616-6711).
