Fostering Coastal Connections

The State Coastal Conservancy (SCC) has been an important partner with the Trinidad Coastal Land Trust (TCLT) in helping to support engaging coastal education programs. TCLT's Fostering Coastal Connections project will continue to improve upon its successful “Connecting Coast to Community” program, previously funded by the SCC's Explore the Coast grant which included volunteer ambassador training, a summer guided walk series, and education and outreach materials. Key additions to the program will include “Ride to the Wild” walk opportunities timed to fit with public transportation schedules, bilingual guided walks in Spanish and English, summer Boys and Girls Club Camps, All Abilities Coastal Explorations (designed for those who have physical challenges that can be barriers to connecting to the coast), and a California Coastal National Monument Festival, celebrating the rich ecological and cultural significance of the area.
