The Trinidad Coastal Land Trust helps to steward and maintain the Luffenholtz State Beach and Point Trail vista area. The beach and point trail property is owned by the State of California. It was previously managed as a county park, but no longer. The Land Trust owns the north Luffenholtz beach parcel, and the Houda Point parcel to the south. The Land Trust recently signed an agreement with the State to take on maintenance responsibilities. Many Land Trust volunteers spend dozens of hours here a year to help with removing trash, invasive ivy, beach clean ups and minor trail repairs. We also maintain a dog waste bin and weekly trash maintenance. The restroom does not function and is closed off. Please be aware and watch for the uneven trail steps and unstable cliff slope.
Notice the small sign and dog waste basket near the beach trail head parking area off Scenic Drive. The trail to Luffenholtz Beach is steep and you might have to cross the creek at the bottom.
Basic Rules include: No camping No fires Pick up all trash Pick up after your dog No dogs on Tepona Point trail
